Fume Hood Controllers

FUME HOOD CONTROLLERS - Face velocity should be maintained between 80 and 120 fpm to minimize the chance of fume rollout. We utilize Siemens fume hood controllers that constantly monitor exhaust volumetric flow and sash position along with high speed linear actuators to maintain consistent face velocity. These controllers reduce laboratory air changes during periods of non usage and therefore allow significant reduction in fan and HVAC energy. When used in conjunction with room pressurization, electronic signals communicate rapidly from the fume hood controller to the room pressurization controller for seamless room pressurization.

This air conditioning system was designed and implemented by Dykier Engineering, known for low-energy, cost effective air conditioning solutions.
